The great outdoors in Sand Springs, Oklahoma calls fishermen from around the state to cast their line into our waters where Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish and many more species can be caught. Fishing nowadays is mostly for sport – the “thrill of the catch” some might say. Well here are a few places around the Sand Springs where you can take your family for a fun day full of fishing!

 

Sand Springs Lake Park has plenty of amenities for families to have a comfortable fishing experience. Pack up lunch and enjoy free parking, picnic area, trails, bank fishing, peace and quiet! This area is also wheelchair accessible!

 

Keystone Lake is a short drive from Sand Springs and is the perfect place for shore or boat fishing! You can expect to catch stripers, walleye, bass and catfish, that is… if they are hungry! The Keystone State Park gift shop sells live worms for bait, or you can travel across the dam to Woody’s Bait & Tackle where you can find all kinds of bait for your family to fish with!

Shell Lake is approximately six miles from Sand Springs and provides great recreational opportunities including both bank fishing and boat fishing! Largemouth bass, Channel catfish, and Spotted bass are generally the hot topic of the 900- acre lake that boasts of trees and foliage that make it the perfect haven for fishing!
