STAR (Sandite Team Animal Rescue) is a charitable organization in Sand Springs dedicated to the rescue and care of abused, neglected and homeless pets.  Their goal is to help save these pets and place them in appropriate adoptive homes.  STAR is a no-kill shelter who functions entirely off volunteers.  They promote pet rescue through charitable fundraising, volunteerism and promotion of spay/neuter practices.  Their fundraising supports necessary veterinary expenses, food, supplies and transport of pets.
On May 23 at 8am, STAR is having their Run to Rescue, a timed, 5K race.  It will be help at the River City Park.  There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run/Jog the Dogs!
