Sandites in Service

Pastor Mike Buie and his wife Pam came to Oklahoma in September of 1987 after serving two churches in Texas. Quickly the family made a home in Sand Springs at CrossPoint Church, formerly Cathedral of Praise. Over the years CrossPoint has offered many outreaches and ministries to meet the needs of the Sand Springs community.
“We want to be a blessing”, Pastor Mike shared. “Above all the history and vision of our church has been about depending on God and loving on people.”
In 2012 and 2013 they took a group of college student on their mission trip to Ukraine. This trip was special to Pastor Mike because the majority of the kids on the trip he dedicated as babies. Mike said, “This is one of the many blessings of being a long term pastor.”
CrossPoint is continuously looking for new and creative ways to minister the vision of the church.
These culturally relevant ministries range from:

  • Back to School Programs where the church provides backpacks and school supplies to local students
  • Winter Coat Programs designed to keep those who need a winter coat warm through the season and share the love of Christ in giving

  • Supply Closets for those in need

Friday Food Share, a 3 year program providing 150-200 families with food for a week CrossPoint is proud to be in the top 200 mission giving Assembly of God churches in the nation. Mike simply shared, “This is what happens when we start loving on people. God has done amazing things through this Sand Springs church.”
