Be ready, RAIN OR SHINE, to come and enjoy the day in Sand Springs!

Sand Springs, OK (April 4, 2014) – The City of Sand Springs hopes you will join us on Saturday, April 26, 2014 for the 25th Annual Herbal Affair & Festival. Between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, more than 100 vendors will be on-hand selling herbs, perennials, natives and heirlooms plants, along with herbal products, gardening supplies and décor and more.

What began in 1989 as a small downtown street sale has grown to attract over 25,000 people and spurred other communities to host similar events. However, the Sand Springs Herbal Affair & Festival remains the “queen” of herbal festivals as the largest and most respected in the state.

Here is a breakdown of events:

Basil Street Theater
Centered in the heart of downtown, the Charles Page Triangle Stage provides the perfect background for festival events. The entertainment schedule is as follows:

8:30 am – 9:30 am Dulcimer Magic
9:45 am – 10:45 am Turtle Creek Cloggers
11:00 am – 12:00 pm Shelby Eicher & Mark Bruner
12:00 pm – 12:30 pm Hometown Hero Presentation
12:30 pm – 1:00 pm Shelby Eicher & Mark Bruner
1:15 pm – 2:15 pm Jennifer Marriott Band
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm Cairde Na Gael

Kid Zone
From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, fun and games will be all the rage at the Herbal Affair Kid Zone, located on Broadway between Main and Garfield. Face painting, games and inflatables can be enjoyed – all free of charge. Volunteers will help make sure kids have a fun and safe time. A Children’s Stage will feature local young entertainers in an open exhibition.

New this year – EMSA, the Sand Springs Police Department and the Sand Springs Fire Department will have crews on-hand so kids can get check out an ambulance, police car and fire truck up close. And, The Tulsa Garden Railroad Club will also be in the Kid Zone displaying their unique model trains and tracks.

Rosemary’s Kitchen
Rosemary’s Kitchen makes sure no one goes away hungry. The Amish and Mennonite communities, along with the Methodist Women will be serving up homemade breads, noodles, cinnamon rolls and pies. Other food choices include cheeseburgers, barbecue, hot dogs, corn dogs, funnel cakes, nachos, baked goods, ice cream, pineapple whip and more.

Plant Sitters
The Plant Sitters booth, manned by local Catholic parishioners, will watch over your purchases free of charge while you enjoy the Herbal Affair & Festival. They can accommodate wagons and carts.

Wine Garden
For the first time in Herbal Affair history, we will have four Oklahoma wineries joining us this year. Located in the City Garden at Broadway & McKinley, the Wine Garden will be a nice, shaded area to visit with the local wineries while sampling their delicious wine selections

Herbal Affair T-Shirts & Tote Bags
T-shirts and tote bags will be available for purchase at the Information Booth for $15 each.

The Festival takes place in historic downtown Sand Springs near Broadway and Main Street.

Free Shuttle
A free shuttle service will be running from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Charles Page High School at Park & Adams Road, two blocks north of the Adams Road exit from State Highway 412/64/51.
