Sand Springs Firework Permits Go On Sale June 12th
You’ll need a permit if you live in Sand Springs and want to shoot off fireworks in town for your July 4th celebrations.
The City of Sand Springs announced Monday mandatory permits go on sale Tuesday, June 12th, and end at 4 p.m. on July 4th.
You have to be 18 or older to buy a permit. Permits are non-transferable.
The city says the permits are good for shooting off fireworks within city limits on July 3rd from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. and on July 4th from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
During your July 4th celebrations, the city says you can use residential streets as long as your fireworks don’t hinder traffic and that you clean up after yourself.
There are several methods you can use to get your permits…

  • You can purchase them in person at the Sand Springs Fire Department Offices at 108 East Broadway Street beginning June 12th
    • They are open from 8-5 p.m. and will remain open during lunch hour from June 25th through Friday, June 29th, to accommodate purchases.
  • You can also purchase permits ONLINE HERE

The city says fire officials are urging Sand Springs residents to remember live fireworks often frighten and stress animals, so they ask you take a moment to secure your pets to reduce the chances of them running away.
Permit fees help to offset overtime costs of police and fire officials who patrol neighborhoods on the July 4th holiday, assuring fireworks are being discharged responsibly with a valid permit.
If you choose not to get a permit and shoot off fireworks, the pre-set court fine for discharging fireworks in the city limits is $154. The city says a maximum fine of $500 plus court costs can be imposed for repeat offenders.
