As the holiday season approaches there will be plenty of desserts being baked at family gatherings. Your grandmother will make her world famous pie, while your other family members all have their specialty as well. You might have a specialty already but we want to be giving in this holiday season and let you in on a little recipe we picked up that you can call your own.

Ginger Snap Cookies

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups Shortening

2 cups Sugar

2 Eggs

1/2 cup Molasses

4 cups Flour

2 tsp. Baking Soda

2 tsp. Ginger

2 tsp. Cloves

2 tsp. Cinnamon

Dash of Salt

DIRECTIONS

Heat the oven to 350 degrees

Whip the Crisco and Sugar

Mix all ingredients except flour.

As you stir, slowly add the flour.

Ball into the size of a walnut.

Roll in sugar

Place dough onto a cookie sheet or baking stone.

Bake for 13-15 mins.

Flatten with spatula and transfer to a cooling rack.
