Brownies Hamburgers Coming to Sand Springs

Brownies Hamburgers is starting a new chapter of its famous burgers and homemade root beer right here in Sand Springs.
The hamburger joint is slated to open soon in The Shops at Adams Road near 2nd and Adams Road, just off of Highway 412.
Dusty Oakley, Brownies’ General Manager, said he can’t wait for the location to open.
“There is a lot of buzz and excitement around it,” Oakley said. “We are pretty confident people will be excited about it.”
Brownies has been in Tulsa since 1956, when brothers Bill and Daryl Bowen started the joint. They currently have two locations, one in midtown Tulsa and the other in south Tulsa.

Oakley said the move partly came from his roots in Sand Springs. He and his family have lived in Sand Springs for several years and he saw an opportunity for expansion.
“We moved to Sand Springs, our home, about two and a half years ago,” Oakley said. “Ever since, we’ve wanted to have a place out there.”
Sand Springs will have the same popular menu items as the two Tulsa locations, but with a little more. They will have a larger menu, more chicken options, and more appetizers.
Oakley said the location is going to be the restaurant’s biggest, double that of the 21st and Harvard spot.

And with more space comes more seating! The new restaurant will feature more than 100 seating options.
Brownies will also be looking to hire multiple servers and kitchen staff for the move. The two other locations’ employees won’t be impacted.
“We thought our food, our prices, and the culture of our restaurant would work well in Sand Springs,” Oakley said. “We patiently waited for a space to come available that we could make work.”
Oakley says he hopes to have the restaurant up and running by early July.
