American Therapeutic Riding Center provides opportunities for people with varying ability levels and to challenge them physically and emotionally by setting goals to improve quality of life through equine therapy.  They are a non-profit that thrives off of volunteers! Denise Ward, Executive Director, said last year they logged over 4,700 hours of volunteer work!  She loves watching as the volunteer’s lives are changed just as much as the patients!

Volunteering at ATRC is a life changing experience for both the volunteer and the rider. Therapeutic riding is a great cause and an amazing area to volunteer in. Therapeutic riding uses equine oriented activities for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals with different challenges.Volunteering at ATRC provides individuals and groups oppotunities to work in the barn, in the arena, as well as in the office. Our volunteers learn and improve skills such as communication, socialization, strength, endurance, concentration, creativity, rigour, etc.

So who can volunteer? ANYONE.  Eagle Scouts, Youth Groups, Tulsa Tech, Tulsa Welding, Schools or just you yourself!  They even have internships.
