The Fore-1-1 on the Canyons at Blackjack Ridge
One of the top-rated golf courses in the region, the Canyons at Blackjack Ridge is currently closed for a multi-million dollar renovation but scheduled to reopen by August 2020.
Whether you’re a member or a first-timer, there may be some things you don’t know about “the Canyons,” as the award-winning course and clubhouse is referred to as by the locals.
Did you know…
… Seniors receive discounted membership rates.
… You can take private lessons with Brian Talley and Benjamin Benton.
… Willie Nelson has played the course. He enjoyed an “Uncloudy Day” or two on the greens!
… You can order breakfast at the on-site grill? Diners can enjoy a breakfast sandwich on their choice of white or wheat bread with ham, sausage, or bacon.
… Members receive special perks like preferred tee times and reduced cart fees
… The potato chips are made in-house by the kitchen staff, which is led by Food and Beverage Manager Dawn Hendricks.
… Founded in 1953, the course used to be called Osage Hills Country Club.
… After a round, players can enjoy an ice-cold beer at the grill, which serves domestic beers like Budweiser and Coors Original. Other drinks include soft drinks, Powerade, and coffee.
… Golfers will enjoy panoramic city views of the mini-skyscrapers in downtown Tulsa, but they may also spot some Oklahoma wildlife, like deer and small foxes.
And for one of the most fun facts of all: the elevation changes on every single hole. There’s only one hole on the entire course that’s flat, and the remaining 17 holes are full of challenging ups and downs.
Whether you haven’t yet visited or are there every day, we hope you learned something new about the Canyons.
We are so excited for the improvements being made to this Sandite-favorite. Congratulations to the Canyons at Blackjack Ridge on the exciting renovations to the greens and the clubhouse 𑁋 we’re sure it’ll be a hole-in-one!
