Downtown Sand Springs: Live, Work, and Shop!
Sand Springs is taking small business to a whole new level. With the conditions we have been forced to live with thanks to COVID-19, shops have had to revamp and think through how they will get their products to customers. Our shop owners here in Sand Springs have buckled down and created a more meaningful shopping experience through social media, website updates and inviting guests in for a safe, in-person experience.
One of our beloved downtown stores, Coble’s Creations, shares their favorite part about being in Sand Springs is “the sense of community and drive of all the business owners to bring something special to Sand Springs”. Coble’s Creations offer fresh flower deliveries for all occasions to home and residential areas. They also offer one-of-a-kind tributes for your loved ones. They are doing all they can to keep their customers safe by offering curbside pickups, contactless delivery, and practicing social distancing while wearing masks in their retail establishment. During the month of March, they have a special on shamrocks and many exciting specials planned for Herbal Affair as well as succulent classes planned for April.
Blush Hair and Makeup Lounge has been in business for six years. When you walk into the store, wearing your CDC mandated mask of course, you will find nostalgic candy, kitchen gadgets, drink mixers and fun gift ideas that will make you want to stay and shop a while! OkieSpice is happy to announce they will once again be planning their annual Westival Event. It will run in conjunction with the Sand Springs Herbal Affair on April 17th. The city has extended Herbal Affair south down Main Street and they are so excited to be closer to all the fun!
We also got to chat with Yellow House Market & Boutique. Yellow House offers clothing, jewelry, shoes, gift items, home goods, Kendra Scott, Brighton, children’s clothing, gift wrapping and more! They are one of the front runners of getting the best use out of their social media platforms. They currently have Facebook lives, a live-streamed video on their Facebook page, where they share about their products and style them! “I love the community of business owners,” said the owner of Yellow House,” The community over competition spirit that we have and hope all to succeed! I love the variety of businesses and that you can park and walk from place to place.” Yellow House has also been a forerunner in the application of the CDC guidelines to make sure their customers are shopping in a safe, clean environment where they feel most comfortable. For sales and discounts, keep an eye out on their social media pages!
Last but certainly not least we wanted to showcase one of the most delicious restaurants around, Little Venice! Little Venice is a one of a kind warm and welcoming place that serves exceptional Italian food. Your nose can lead you to their storefront in downtown where they say they love, “Being part of the unique history of Sand Springs”. When you walk in the front door you will be greeted with a big smile, under a mask of course because they take all necessary precautions and deeply care about the safety of their customers. We know you will be excited to hear that they have two special dinners coming up: March 7th, Beer and Wine Dinner and April 4th, Easter Brunch.
Supporting local businesses is what keeps the community alive in small towns. We want to encourage our community members to support shops like Coble’s Creations and Blush Hair and Makeup Lounge. Take a moment to visit websites of local shops, give them a follow on social media, and interact with new business owners as we all walk through this pandemic together. Sand Springs really is a splendid place to live, work, and shop!
