It’s that time of year again. The kids are going back to school, football season is in full swing and the leaves are starting to change colors. Many claim fall as their all time favorite season. The cool weather that sweeps through our town serves as a reminder that the fun fall festivities are about to begin. Lay out your flannel shirts and dust off those fall boots, because it’s time for pumpkin patches, hayrides and trunk-or-treats.
Kick of the season by visiting one of the local pumpkin patches. While there are many pumpkin patches throughout Oklahoma, Sand Springs is home to some of the best. Pleasant Valley farms offers an array of free activities like duck races, corn mazes, pumpkin drawing, kid’s calf head roping, pumpkin checkers and so much more. In addition to the free activities, there are also some activities that are worth the price. Play into your family’s competitive spirit and participate in pumpkin chunkin’ or a heated game of mini golf. Take the family on a one mile scenic hayride or get your steps in by going through the fifteen acre corn maze. Remember to record the memories by taking advantage of the photo opportunities throughout the farm. You can visit the patch any day in October Monday through Saturday 10am-7pm or Sundays noon-7pm.
The Patch at Sand Springs is a local favorite. This pumpkin patch is a local and family-owned business. The family recently expanded to include a pumpkin patch in Glenpool. Operating since 2011, The Patch has served the fall decor and pumpkin needs of Sand Springs and surrounding areas. You can plan your kiddos fall birthday party or even take a field trip with your organization. This patch features unlimited fun for kids! Experience water duck races, a tube slide, inflatables and don’t forget the petting zoo. Bring the kids on the weekend and let them experience their first pony ride. All of these activities can be found at both Sand Springs and Glenpool locations. You can visit The Patch any day in October from 9am-7pm.
Pumpkins are awesome, but nothing beats Halloween. Trick-or-treating, haunted houses and endless amounts of candy give us good fall vibes, but they fail in comparison to how the Churches of Sand Springs do Halloween. Say goodbye to October by taking the family to the infamous Boo at Case Park. This annual event ends October with a bang. Get out those family costumes that took all your blood sweat and tears. Showcase them as you partake in this community event that is fun for the whole family. Be prepared to see the decked out trunks and don’t forget those trick or treat baskets to collect all that candy. Boo at Case Park will be on October 30, 2022.
